- Position hands as close to shoulders as possible
- Take a deep breath in and hold for duration of lift, exhaling once back in start position
- Set feet between hip and shoulder width apart
- Aim to squat to a depth where hip joint is slightly lower than knee joint
- Maintain a braced core through exercise
